Critical thinking and media literacy and fact checking
This module is designed to help and guide participants and educators to reflect about climate change through an education grounded in critical analyses of information displayed in the media.
The goals of the Module:
We look at three important concepts that should be part of the toolkit for those who wish to deal with the possibility of disinformation in the media: Critical Thinking (CT); Media Literacy (ML); and Fact Checking (FC).
The goal is to introduce these three concepts, to show how they converge and how they can be used to make citizens more resilient to the information that is directed towards them.
By the end of this module, learners are expected to:
Better understand the concepts of Critical Thinking, Media Literacy and Fact Checking.
Identify the key components of Critical Thinking, Media Literacy and Fact Checking.
Explore some of the tools and techniques of Critical Thinking, Media Literacy and Fact Checking.
